The Shihpoo is a designer cross between the Shih Tzu and the Toy or Miniature Poodle, typically 4 to 7 kg. The Shihpoo inherits from two very different job descriptions. The honest part, from two years of matching crosses to families: individual Shihpoos land at different points between the parents. Some are nappers with occasional zoomies; some are busy little students with a nap habit. Can a Shihpoo Be Left Alone During Work Hours?
Reasonably well, and better than most toy crosses. The Shih Tzu half brings genuine composure about quiet hours; the Poodle half wants something to do, so leave chew work and a puzzle feeder. With a settled routine and a cool room, most Shihpoos handle a working household gracefully.

Keeping a Shihpoo in an HDB flat
The Shihpoo is a cross of two HDB-approved breeds, the Shih Tzu and the Toy Poodle, and falls comfortably inside HDB's small-breed rules the same way our Cavapoos and Maltipoos do. HDB allows one dog of an approved breed per flat, and every Shihpoo we place has its dog licensing completed at purchase.
Is a Shihpoo HDB-friendly? Yes: both parents are named on the approved list and the cross sits well within the size rules. Mind the one-dog-per-flat rule, and if you already have a dog, message us first so we can check your situation.

If deciding where to get a Cavapoo, the shop at Balestier is where I'd tell you to start. By the end of the visit, it was clear Kim and Nelson threw in a pile of thoughtful extras at no charge, and also taught us how to settle a puppy through the first few nights. You could tell corners weren't being cut anywhere, from the prices down. Our Cavapoo very healthy, vet also said can see properly taken care of before we bought. If peace of mind matters to you, this is the place. 😊
